Exhibition in the Divan - Arabic Cultural House

Our CCPF Chamber of Commerce, represented by its President, Mr. Vladimír Cnota, was honored to be invited to attend the official opening of exhibition named "30 Years of the Fall of the Berlin Wall: Separate Memories, Different Realities, Shared Future". The event took place on August 22, 2019 in the Divan - Arabic Cultural House in Berlin.

The Chamber was invited by H. E. Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, the Qatari Ambassador to Germany and the Czech Republic, who is also the Chairman of the Divan - Arabic Cultural House.

The event was commenced by a speech of H. E. the Qatari Ambassador and also included a moderated panel on topic of the 30th anniversary of fall of the Berlin Wall which included prominent German historians and journalists. Other guests included Mr. Sigmar Gabriel, former German Minister of Foreign Affairs, and numerous Arab ambassadors to Berlin.

The most fascinating exhibit of all was an original part of the Berlin Wall, which was lent out to the Divan by the The Wall Museum in Berlin. The exhibition also included a display of stadium models for the FIFA World Cup 2022 which will be organized by the State of Qatar.

The whole event was a pleasant opportunity to meet and establish new connections among friends of Qatar. Mr. Cnota, the President of the CCPF Chamber of Commerce, stated:

"I am thankful to Mr. Ambassador for his kind invitation and organizing this event which is a reminder for all of us that it is always better to build bridges between each other, rather than building walls that separate us."
